What You Must Know While Shopping For Television

Nowadays, buying a TV set is not as simple as it once was. You may be tempted to buy the one that looks the best in the advertisement or in the showroom but it may not be the right choice for your home.

Following are a few tips for helping you to make a better and more informed decision while buying a television.

1. Space
The TV set you buy must fit into the space where you want to put it. Also, it should be visible from where you want to sit. This makes it important to measure the space where the set will go, including the width, height and depth of space, so that you can choose a good set with sufficient ventilation and edge space for installation and cleaning. It is also a good idea to measure the distance to your cable socket if you have an external aerial.

2. Screen size
The right screen is a balance between the dimensions of the room and your viewing habits, and your choice of technology. The average screen size is given as a diagonal measure across the screen. High-resolution DVD and digital TV provide much sharper images and offer a more immersive, theatre-like picture.

3. Picture quality, audio quality and connectivity
Once you have considered the above factors, it may be best to look at some sets so that you can judge the picture quality. The screen must be dark to have clear and sharp pictures. The flatness of the picture tube is also a consideration. Flatter the tube, lesser will be the glare from windows and lamps and less shape distortion.

It has become common to integrate TV and hi-fi equipment into a more complete home entertainment system, giving a more dynamic home theatre experience. Check whether the set has at least one set of stereo audio inputs and one set of stereo audio outputs, as well as video inputs and outputs connectors.

4. Plasma or LCD
The current TV technology is abuzz with Plasma High Definition or LCD. These offer bigger pictures within smaller space, less heat generated and the appearance of compactness through digital technology. LCD appears to be brighter and offers more contrast whereas Plasma has higher definition color, superior viewing angles and faster response time providing crisper time movement.

5. Remote controllers and accessories
All TV sets come with remote controls. It should be easy to use and address all TV functions.

Other features that can be taken into account are picture-in-picture (PIP), or picture-outside-picture (POP), commercial skip timers, channel blocking and tuner extras to make TV set functions easier. Additional accessories and after sale services are other important factors.

When you go to buy your TV set, keep all these factors in mind and you won’t go wrong!

Easter Gifts That Last Longer Than The Chocolate Bunny

Easter is a special occasion and every year you give your family and friends the same chocolate eggs and chocolate bunny.

Don’t you think they have had enough of it?

This year, try something different! Choose a gift that makes everyone remember about Easter the whole year.

It is only once a year that Easter comes to brighten up our lives with hope and spirit of spring. On this day, everyone sits around the table and eat lots of eggs with joy for the resurrection of Jesus. This tradition can be celebrated by giving some small presents to share your happiness and spread the cheer among your loved ones.

Some of the unique and memorable Easter gifts that will make it all the more special include:

1. Instead of the popular Easter present, the chocolate Easter bunny, you can present a soft artificial bunny that your kids will be delighted to get. It’s a terrific gift for even grownups and to say ‘I Love You’ to someone in a very special way as well as ‘Happy Easter!’

2. Plants can also be great Easter presents. Think about it…giving someone some spring flowers like tulip, crocus, hyacinth or even grass in a flowerpot. Plants make the house look happier, closer to nature and survive not only this year on Easter.

3. Among home accessories, doorsteps can be an ideal presents for both children and grown ups, especially in the rooster design. Believe me, it can look really nice and adds to the design of each home. The recipient will be pleased to receive such a thoughtful gift as it looks like a piece of spring every season of the year. As a practical gift, it can stand in the kitchen and hold the door ajar by children or babies.

4. A very good idea is to gift a living creature like a dog to someone you love. People love such gifts and it makes them feel very special and touched. However, it is a risky task with a huge responsibility attached to it. Animals are not toys and you need to think carefully before presenting one to somebody.

5. There is a wide range of Easter decorations available in the market these days. For example: a pretty seasonal door wreath to welcome visitors on the Easter holiday can be a great gift. It can be hand crafted with fresh foliage, herbs and moss and decorated with Easter nests to make it seem like the perfect decoration piece for celebrating this event.

Unique Gift Ideas For Easter

With everyone awaiting the arrival of Easter, the festival of spring, its time to start shopping for gifts for your loved ones. Although jelly beans and chocolate eggs are always popular with the kids, you may want to look for something different this year.

An Easter basket is undoubtedly the best gift for your loved ones and makes an enjoyable present for everyone. Kids love Easter and the Easter basket filled with different goodies can bring delight to their faces!

Here are some unique Easter gift ideas that can be used while creating or selecting a gift basket:

1. Books
A lot of people love reading and would love to receive a book on Easter. For kids, books can be an aid in mental development and encourage their imaginative spirit. An Easter themed story book will surely be loved by your kids and give you a chance to spend quality time together while reading it. Adults are equally fond of books and when you go shopping, keep their preferences in mind.

2. Toys
I’m not just talking about kids. Even grown ups may be fond of stuffed animals. Of course, toys are always a hit with the kids. From Yo-Yo to their favorite action figure, this can be a unique Easter gift that will bring a smile to your child’s face. You can also go for plush toys like Easter chicks or Easter bunnies. Keep the recipient’s age and gender in mind while selecting the toy for them.

3. Healthy treats
Candy and chocolates are universally loved but you can think of healthier sweet treats than these. A unique Easter gift would be fruit roll ups of a good brand. It is much healthier than candy. Raisins, with or without chocolate will also delight your kids and make a healthier Easter present.

If you are ready to put in some more effort, make Easter cookies at home. at least they won’t be full of conservatives and dyes that are found in the market made cookies. Of course, homemade food tastes better, rather best!

4. DVD and CD
Choose your child’s favorite movie or cartoon character series. This can be well appreciated Easter gift that will be enjoyed for a long time. It need not necessarily be Easter themed. Similarly, think of your friend’s favorite movie or music album and gift it to them on Easter.

As you can see, Easter can be celebrated with unique gifts too. You don’t have to stick with the traditional gifts to make it a valued gift. A gift that is chosen with care and love is best loved and cherished. It has nothing to do with the trend or the price tag. Prepare an Easter basket filled with personalized gifts that show your affection and keep the Easter spirit intact.
